When did you first begin to realise that coronavirus was something out of the ordinary?About Mid April
Receiving a phone call from my boss telling me to clear as much work load as possible, from midnight on 27th March you won't have access until further notice. We are all either being furloughed or very few will work from home. Furlough that's a new word!!
What were the biggest problems with coping with lockdown and how did you manage?Getting used to the new normal. Having to home school; well I didn't but my wife did. We found baking was a good way to help deal with it.
Were there times you despaired?The beginning was a learning curve, but midway till the end most days became hard.
What keeps you / kept you going?Family time that we will never get back. Video calls to family and lots of baking. With the daily walks and bike rides to help not gain too much baking weight 😫
What was your lowest moment?The lockdown arguments between us all.
What was your best / funniest moment?The amazing weather which really helped. All the amazing family time together. Fun and games in the garden.
Do you think the government is handling / handled the crisis satisfactorily?I think that the government was a little late on locking the country down. However, since then they have done everything they can to make the best of a bad situation.
Were you also affected by flooding on the night of February 9 and how have you coped with both problems?Yes I think most of us have been. Although ours was mainly garden and shed damage. Thank goodness for the builders putting us on stilts, otherwise it would have been a lot worse. Walking around the village on that horrible night I will never forget. Seeing people pumping water from homes then the next morning the damaged furniture and carpets left on lawns. A very sad time for all.
