CAPEL CONFINED

On 23rd March 2020, the UK Government imposed the unprecedented step of a 'Lockdown' on its citizens to prevent the increasing spread of the Covid-19 virus, a measure that was not fully ended until some five months later.

In this truly unique period, Capel History Group issued a survey to invite the people of Capel to document how their lives had changed and describe their feelings during the pandemic and concerns about the future when life eventually returned to some form of normality. The results provide fascinating accounts of the experiences of people in the most extraordinary and uncertain times set against the reality and pragmatism of living through the situation.
